Peters, 62, of Carlyle, died Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at St. Elizabeth's Hos- pital in Belleville. She was born Feb. 23, 1954, at Belleville, the daughter of Olivia (Henken) and A.

Fred Mueller. On July 19, 1985, she married Gerard Peters at Bar- telso. Marilyn served in the Unit- ed States Army from 1976 to 1980, and worked at the Cen- tralia Post Office until her re- tirement in 2009. She was a member of St. Teresa's Church in Marydale, and also attended and sang in the choir at St.

An- thony's Church in Beckemeyer. Marilyn loved spending time with her grandchildren, en- joyed quilting, and was active in her card clubs and the Red Hat Society. She is survived by her hus- band; two daughters, Lelette (David Jr.) Spihlmann of Avis- ton and Amanda (Ryan) Foster of Peoria; five grandchildren, Landric, Indrina and Dayceon Spihlmann, and Elizabeth and Stephen Foster; siblings, Phyl- lis (Ray) Berkel, Barbara (Charles) Kaiser, Ruth Niko- lauzyk, Vivian Wisdom, Mi- chael (Linda) Mueller, Agatha (friend Ken Dierkes) Isaak, Claire (Gene) Dinkelman, Nor- bert (Bonnie) Mueller, Monica (Al) Villy, Mark (Nina) Muel- ler and JoAnn (Patrick) Greer; and a sister-in-law, Darlene Mueller. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Leon Mueller and Tom Muel- ler; and three brothers-in-law, Jim Wisdom, Ken Nikolauzyk and Jerry Isaak. Visitation was held Sunday afternoon and Monday morn- ing at Zieren Funeral Home in Carlyle.

Anthony Elfrink Anthony "Tony" H. Elfrink, 84, of Breese and formerly of Cahokia, died Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at Barnes-Jewish Hos- pital in St. Louis. He was born Aug. 25, 1931, at Leopold, Missouri, the son of Gertrude Mary (Tenholder) and Anthony J.

Elfrink Tony was a U.S. Army vet- eran, having served during the Korean War, and retired from Elfrink Truck Lines in St. Lou- is. He was a member of Team- sters Local 600; Holy Family Catholic Church, the former St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 4596 and V.F.W.

Post 1699 in Cahokia; and the League of 1000 Men of the Pink Sisters. After his retire- ment Tony took up bowling and enjoyed bowling in the Senior League at Cahokia. He was a long time pheresis donor at Barnes Hospital. He is survived by his chil- dren, Becky Elfrink of Fenton, Missouri, Joan (Jim) Young of Germantown, Stan (Tracy) Elf- rink of Dexter, Missouri, Bren- da Elfrink of St. Louis, Carl Elfrink of Breese, Pat Elfrink of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and Alan Elfrink of Belleville; seven grandchildren, Connie (Patrick), Eddie, Ben, Anthony, Sarah (Willie), Matt and Mela- nie; and two great-grandchil- dren, Luke and Sara Katherine; along with in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation was held Sunday evening at Braun Colonial Fu- neral Home in Cahokia. Father Linus Umoren and Father Paul Wienhoff presided at the Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Cahokia. Interment was in Jefferson Barracks Na- tional Cemetery, St. Louis County, Missouri. Memorials may be made in the form of Masses or to the charity of the donor's choice.

David Hilmes David Henry Hilmes, 75, of Lockport and formerly of Breese, died peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on Thursday, May 26, 2016. He was born Aug. 17, 1940. David retired from Caterpil- lar after years, and re- tired from the city of Lockport water department after 45 years.

JOHA and Angels Grace provided excellent care. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda (Willi) Hilmes; his children, Tom (Holly) Hilmes and Donna (John) Cieslinski; grandchil- dren, Erika Tyler, Kayla Cies- linski and David Hilmes; great- grandchildren, Caleb and Greyson; and siblings, Clara (Greg) Wesselmann of Breese, Richard (special friend Wilma Thornberry) Hilmes of St. Lou- is, and Mary Woltering of Car- lyle. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Sophia Hilmes; and six siblings. A celebration of his life will be held at noon on Sunday, June 26, at Christ United Meth- odist Church in Lockport.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, 224 Bruce Lockport, IL 60441. Elsie Thole Elsie A. Thole, 100, of St. Rose, died Saturday, June 4, 2016, at Breese Nursing Home. She was born April 25, 1916, at St.

Rose, the daughter of Sophia (Henrichs) and The- odore Spierling. On Oct. 1, 1935, she married Frank G. Thole at St. Rose Catholic Church.

Elsie was a homemaker and a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, Altar Sodality and choir, and a member of Daugh- ters of Isabella Precious Blood Circle 718. She enjoyed her garden, flowers (especially ros- es), stitching, needlework, and listening to the wrens sing in the morning. She is survived by her chil- dren, Rita Mensing of Breese, Marcel Thole, Patricia (Myrt) Rollins and Norbert (Marilyn) Thole of St. Rose, Ruth (Jim) Holmes of Aviston and Gary (Gina) Thole of Highland; a daughter-in-law, Ruth Thole of Breese; 18 grandchildren, Kathleen (David) Hawthorne, Angela (Mike) Wiegmann, Kenny (Diane) Thole, Sharon Burgess, Tom Mensing, Mike (Monica) Mensing, Bob (Mar- la) Mensing, Tim Mensing, Sherry (Paul) Wuller, Scott (Jill) Thole, Jeff Thole, Jenni- fer Kalmer, Julie (Kurt) Huels- mann, Mark Holmes, Tracey (Chris) Straub, Ben (Amy) Thole, Tina (Bill) Greenwald and Tara (Brian) Tebbe; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Dec. 15, 1984; a daughter, Mary Ann Thole; sons, Francis Thole and Virgil Thole; a son- in-law, Vincent Mensing; sis- ters, Alvina Spierling, Hilda Moenster and Eugenia Kapp; a brother, Arnold Spierling; and a sister-in-law and brothers-in- law, Mary Spierling, Frank Moenster and George Kapp. Visitation was held Tuesday evening and Wednesday morn- ing at Moss Funeral Home in Breese. Father Edward Schae- fer presided at the Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at St. Rose Catholic Church in St.

Martin Hoerchler Martin "Marty" Hoerchler, 65, of Caseyville, died Friday, June 3, 2016, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. He was born March 17, 1951, at Belleville, the son of Norma (Coughlan) and Harold Hoerchler. On March 7, 2000, he married Chris Roe at Ja- maica.

He is survived by his wife; his son, Tony (special friend Samantha Reynolds) Hoerchler of Centralia; two grandchil- dren; three sisters, Marian Bos- ton of Colorado, Bonnie (Lou) Wells of Chatham and Colleen Hoerchler of Breese; four brothers, Robert Hoerchler of Oregon, Mike (Shirley) Hoer- chler of Centralia, and Gordon (Anita) Hoerchler and Timothy (Diane) Hoerchler of New Baden. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Ted Hoerchler. 2, 1934, at Trenton, the son of Berna- dine (Rolves) and Bernard Wellen. On June 1, 1957, he married Mary Ann Atwood. Marvin was a United States Army veteran and worked in accounting for Union Pacific Rail Road. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Trenton and he was an avid cyclist.

Marvin particularly en- joyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grand- children. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Craig (Estrellita) Wellen of Fairview Heights and Todd Wellen of Osteen, Florida; three grandchildren, Jason (fiance Sara) Wellen, Jennifer (Matt) Schulte and Landon Wellen; two great- grandchildren, Madison and Austin Schulte; sisters and brothers, Delores (Gerald) Ernst of Bellevue, Iowa, Ber- nette (the late John) Dilley of Trenton, Orville (Doris) Wellen of Washington, Missouri, Clara (James) Seiffert of Carlyle, and Robert (Mary) Wellen and Ralph Wellen of Trenton; and two sisters-in-law, Patricia (Harry) Cavanaugh of Gil- lespie and Cheryl (Rick) Christ of Trenton. He was born Oct. 6, 1946, at East St. Louis, the son of De- vota Catherine (Miles) and William "Bud" Craig. In 1968 he married Kathy Harrington at Cahokia. He is survived by his wife; five children, Jeff (Laurie) Craig of Millstadt, William Dale (Dawn) Craig Jr.

of Mul- berry Grove, Thomas Craig and Kerri Craig Egner of Bel- leville, and Joe (Melandie) Craig of Smithton; 12 grand- children; eight great-grandchil- dren; and two sisters, Darleen (Walter) Richter of Mascoutah and Debbie Krill of Carpen- tersville. Anthony's, St. Louis. He was born Nov. 17, 1949, at Highland, the son of Flor- ence (Goestenkors) and An- thony "Buck" Lohman. On April 14, 1973, he married Kathleen Voss at St.

Dominic Catholic Church in Breese. Don was a graduate of Ma- ter Dei High School, Breese, and Southern Illinois Universi- ty, Edwardsville, with a bache- lor's degree in business admin- istration. He worked as a police officer for the city of Highland for 24 years, retiring as a ser- geant in 2000, then became a utility locator for the city of Highland, retiring in June 2015. Don was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Ameri- can Legion, Police Pension Board, Knights of Columbus Council 1580, 4th Degree As- sembly, and Franciscan Associ- ate for Hospital Sisters of St.

Francis. He was active in Cur- sillo Movement; was a former Scout Master, Troop 40; was a charter organization represen- tative of the Boy Scouts; and he co-founded the New Swit- zerland Model Railroad Club. Don adored his grandchil- dren; loved nature; was an avid to work for 39 years; loved to travel; and was a selfless man who would give the shirt off his back. But most of all, he saw God in all cre- ations. He is survived by his moth- er of Aviston; his wife; his children, Kelli (Todd) Dempsey of St.

Louis and Casey (Anne) Lohman of Highland; grand- children, Cammie Dempsey and Blake Zarinelli; brothers, David (Donna) Lohman, Den- nis (Barb) Lohman and Jim (Sue) Lohman of Aviston; a sister, Ann (Keith) Wilhelm of O'Fallon; and several nieces and nephews. Therese Youth Development Center) Interna- tional. Julia Maue Julia Ann Maue, 74, of Breese, died Friday, June 3, 2016, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Breese. She was born Aug. 13, 1941, the daughter of Lillian (Wien- ker) and George Niebur.

On May 10, 1960, she married Donald Maue at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese. Julia retired as a medical records clerk at St. Joseph's Hospital in Breese. She was a member of St.

Dominic Catho- lic Church and Altar Sodality in Breese and Breese Historical Society. Julia enjoyed scrap- booking, camping, traveling, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her hus- band; her children, Bradley (Michele) Maue of Breese, De- nise (George) Timmermann of New Baden, Donna (Kevin) Heckenkemper of Albers, Cheryl (Heath) Whiteside of Barnhart, Missouri, and Angela (Douglas) Sabo of Carlyle; 12 grandchildren, Paige and Blake Maue, George William (Ja- mie), Jared and Jenna Timmer- mann, Devin (Lauren), Alex and Austin Heckenkemper, Lily Masterson, Mason White- side, and Sophia and Wade Sabo; three great-grandchil- dren, Bryce Timmermann, and Owen and Perry Heckenkem- per; brother- and sisters-in-law, Harold Maue of Damiansville, Bernice Huelsmann of Trenton, Irene Maue and Mary Ann Maue of Breese, and Jeanette Beckmann of Germantown; and numerous nieces and neph- ews. She was very proud of her job and held the titles of administrator of the review board for the Bel- leville Diocese and director of counseling for Catholic Social Services.

She was a woman of faith, who lived for her sons, daughters-in-law and grand- daughters. Margie enjoyed pol- itics and reading. She was a member of Cathedral of St. Peter in Belleville. She is survived by two sons, Richard (Mindy) Mensen of Shawano, Wisconsin, and Erik (Amanda) Mensen of Bel- leville; two granddaughters, Lyric Mensen and Morgan Mensen; her siblings, Steve (Missy) Holtgrave of Carlyle, Louise (Pete) Cerneka of Leba- non, Richard "Rich" (Kris) Holtgrave of Carlyle and Julius "Jule" (Tina) Holtgrave of St.

Rose; her mother-in-law, Nor- ma Jane Mensen of Salem; a sister-in-law, Judy Mensen of Aviston; and a brother-in-law, Robert (Beth) Mensen of Sa- lem. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on June 29, 2013; a brother, Wal- ter "Wally" Holtgrave; her fa- ther-in-law, Richard Mensen; and a brother-in-law, Mike Mensen.
